Show Case

Below are projects that highlight some of my skills as an educational technologist.

Technologies such as Prezi, Weebly, WIX, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and many more were used to help create these showcase pieces.  It is also important to note that the technologies are only part of the story, in each of these there has been thought devoted to pedegogy and content to ensure a well rounded project aimed at a specific learner, in a specific context.  In addition, for several of these examples I am drawing on skills that were developed in my Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Business Management (ABM).  Some of these examples will higlight where I have been able to apply the ABM skills, my Ed Tech skills towards application in the Upper Peninsula.  (specifically see Farm Builder, Program Development, and Agriculture Business Education Site)

This project is designed to have begining farmers self reflect to better understand the position they should take when farming.

The concpet of the information diet is that people digest a lot of information from a lot of different sources and if we were to pass judgements onto the types of information  we could say whether the information that we are consuming is healthy or not.   This project shows one method for reflecting on your information diet.

Wicked problems are difficult to solve problems that haver confounding issues, changing factors, and no clear definition of what a solved state would look like.  In this project we tackle the issue of using Failure as a Mode of Learning as our wicked problem challenge.

This project was all about telling a story using audio and pictures to get at the heart  of a learning experience of our interviewees.  I interviewed a recently ordained minister, and her particular learning experience.

This project included the creation of a structure to aid in program planning, this mind map is based on the University of Wisconsin framework for Logic Models.  The value in this is that everyone can see the work, populate the data, and share the data in a structured format.

I explore connections between two articles, "The Role of Assessment in a Learning Culture" by Lorrie Sheppard and "Inside the black box: Raising standards through classroom assessment" by Paul Black and Dylan Wiliam.  They both are discussing how assessments can be used in the classroom to make for a better learning environment.  The discussion of the two focuses on their similarities and how their application of a new environment for learners is also an environment that is required for teachers

For this project I explore the concept that all people can be used as sensors.  In order to take advantage of the full range of human sensing ability I give examples, and explain how we could be "hooked up" as input devices.  This project gets students engaged in decision making based on solid electronically collected data.

This project focuses on a simple and intuitive delivery of an agriculture business curriculum for Native American Students.  This site has prioritized student learning needs by allowing for multiple means of presenting the material, and also allowing for students to take ownership of their work by allowing multiple means of expression.
